OUTSTANDING BANQUET COMPLETES 2006 SEASON
(March 3, 2007 Ankeny, IA) The Eddyville Raceway Park Championship Awards Banquet put an explanation point to the 2006 season, this past Saturday. With a severe winter storm blasting the Midwest on Friday and into Saturday, racers and crew were determined and showed up in big numbers. With attendance nearing 250 people, the building was a buzz of stories from the 2006 season and in anticipation of 2007.
NHRA Division Director Rob Park made the trip from Kansas City to tell the enthusiastic crowd that his commitment to the sportsman racer would not waiver and that the NHRA has rededicated themselves with new and exciting bracket race programs. The evening also included some great entertainment from the ERP racers themselves as Larry Dash accepted "The Shameless Promotion Award" for his grand efforts to get more camera time than anyone else on a recent episode of NHRA Race Day.
Other evening highlights included Top ET Champion Josh Kanselaar accepting his award and thanking countless people as "not fun haters". Additionally, Jok Nicholson from Trailer Toad distributed cash awards to several racers who qualified for the opportunity. In total nearly $15,000 in cash and awards were distributed.
The Eddyville Raceway Park season is just around the corner with opening day on Saturday, April 21. The Bracket Points Series begins on Saturday, May 5.
