POINTS CHAMPIONS ANNOUNCED
The 2006 Eddyville Raceway Park points champions have been announced. Taking class championships in a series that featured more races than most any other track in the country included; Josh Kanselaar (Top), Bob Bash (Mod), Chad Bru (Super), Hans Haffner (Bike), Chad Bru ( Pure Street), Robbie Massey (Jr Dragster) & in a tie for the High School class Brandon Williams and Jeese Pitts.
Kanselaar took the Top ET championship over a stellar class of entries. "We saw a real rejuvenation in the Top ET Class" said GM Gerald Kramer. "It's a real feat for Josh to win the class championship with that many good racers" he continued. In Modified, one of the hottest racers in the country dominated the class, as Bob Bash definitely made his presence known. "I Attending only a handful of bracket events this season and Bob was always in the late rounds" said ERP's Scott Gardner. "He knows how to win taking five wins and two runner-up finishes and being in a total of twelve final rounds in points and non-points races" he concluded.
Chad Bru showed this strengths as he was able to take championships in two classes. Scoring titles in Super ET and Pure Street with true "Bru" consistency. Another racer to have a spectacular season was young Robbie Massey. Massey scored the ERP Junior Dragster title and proved he is good anywhere, taking wins at Cordova (an IHRA Ironman) and Kansas City (an NHRA Wally) events. Hans Haffner proved he could pilot a bike well, as he dominated a good class of Bike racers scoring six wins and three runner-ups to claim the bike championship title. In a hard fought Friday Night points program, the High School title ended in a tie as Brandon Williams and Jesse Pitts ended knotted at 339 points each.
The Championship Awards Banquet is set for Saturday, March 3, 2007 where the champions will be honored. For a complete listing of the final bracket series points finishers click here.
